1.) The story is an absolute fairy tale

2.) The knife is from a very cheap cutlery set

3.) Like mentioned before - could have belonged to anyone with the initials HH

more like: Hilde Hebert, Heidi Holzmann or Helene Holt

Worst case senario, you have something to eat your next meal with. You went straight for the combo all-in, so to speak, nice!
If you need a plate to round it off, i know a Bi-polar kid who`s knocking out replica wooden ones, also with letters and things on.

Offspring get details wrong, could still be original. Someone needs to check if grandpop was there.

ok goofballs - let's be a little bit kind. this guy is new to WAF and was seeking honest, serious counsel - not ridicule and throw-away lines. if he has a history of blinkered credulity, that's one thing (and I've not heard of him.) otherwise these antics may simply get him to leave the forum with a middle finger raised high. that mightn't be the best outcome, from several obvious standpoints.

I wasn't intending ridicule, just a little humour...for all I know it could be the real deal. My apologies if my stupid joke was upsetting.

                  Well said Inimicus.
Will be interesting to see what feedback a.h. gets from seller

                    thanks for the reax.

i didn't mean to lash anyone in particular - it just seemed the tone and tenor towards this curious newbie was dismissive. as to 'humor,' all in its place. but an embarrassing number of us have been cheated out of our money a time to two, and 'humorous' hasn't been the first word out of our mouths to describe the experience.

I definitely agree with mr. wellner re feedback….

Valid point; however, a little humor isn't a bad thing from time to time.

I do sincerely hope that A.H. is able to get a definitive answer. I know, definitive on anything is near impossible. But perhaps if he feels that he might have been taken, a full, no questions asked refund will be provided.

I'm also hopeful that A.H. may learn from this and post items for review prior to purchasing. I know that I learned some hard lessons through the years and I do rely heavily on the forum to vet pieces that I'm interested in buying as well as selling.

My very best to you A.H., and welcome to the forum.

                          Hi !

                          This thread is interesting.

Don't forget the famous Heinrich Hoffmann...

                          Regards.

Spread the l♥ve - with you H.H engraved tableware

Cached page is still there, and original images found on google images.

Seems the l♥ve has been spread around, same set, incl. teaspoon sold for... $2250.- before fees, from Alexander Historical Auctions! Sold with the same tear jerking vet fable and silly letter. That`s the same auction house that recently sold Adolf`s personal red mobile telephone-in-a-box by the way.

It seems as long as there are two "H`s", it must be Heinrich Himmler!
Same auction house again, different stuff, same claim..
