Insignia
They appear to be later-pattern SA Medical.
They look original, but I can't explain their exact significance - I can't find regulations with silver life rune on tab, and sleeve insignia usually have an oval brown background with life-rune.
They definitely look original from the photos, but closer pics would help.

The RZM label is the wrong code for a hand embroidered bullion insignia. Otherwise, I agree, the materials and overall construction look acceptable. The Marine SA used a sleeve rune on blue (on an oval, rectangle, triangle) but it should be a darker shade than what we see here. The Lebensrune tab could indicate medical school staff, but I've not been able to find any reference to a specifically Marine SA medical school. But then the rune should be tri-colored for school staff.
If this is a genuine set, I don't know what it represents. It's also possible that it's not SA?

Tabs
1. I agree on wrong RZM code - good catch!
2. Color is way too light for Marine SA.
3. Bullion material looks too thin -
4. My initial impression was that they are supposed to be Cornflower Blue for SA-Gruppe Warthe. But now I wonder if they're made up tabs under the erroneous idea that they're supposed to be "Medical" blue tabs (like the 2nd-pattern Medical shoulderboard underlay.)
5. Dimensions of unit tab are not consistent with SA (not a huge issue, but these are later tabs, so the dimensions should be correct.) SA tab regulations are 58mm X 40mm. If these tabs are 58 mm long, then they're 58 X 43 1/2.
Reg. width should be .689 of the length. This unit tab width is .753 of the length.......
6. I can find any mention of any SA Medical skill sleeve devices on a diamond. Triangle, rectangle, oval,,,,yes...but no diamond, plus the skill devices were on a brown background, not other colors, with exception of navy blue for Marine SA.
I won't go as far as to proclaim them as fake, but the wrong RZM tag and lack of any known regulations supporting them, IMO, they're suspect at least.
WAY TOO MANY QUESTIONS ON THESE...Last edited by sgstandard; 03-20-2017, 12:39 PM.
