To my knowledge, the neck chain of the standard PL Flag Bearer's Gorget was marked with the RZM code of the chain's manufacturer on only one of the two end links, though your example includes marked links on both ends. I've never seen that before, but the overall look of the piece appears to be original to the period.

You're absolutely right, EC -- I just looked at the example in my collection and both of the end links are marked with the RZM logo and the licensee code. Motto: "Look before you leap!" also "Act in haste; repent at leisure!"
