One look original. Different numbering die occasionally seen, probably early.

A friend bought this and called me about it last night. Three things concerned me.
Steve, you wrote about Deschler 30mm badges that "Numbers are pressed in rather than stamped. Stamped numbers create a distinctive distortion or bump around the edge of the numbers and are characteristic of a fake." Check the areas above the five for instance. It appears the numbers were stamped.
Also look closely at the maker mark. The Deschler name and address was relief stamped into the base. The letters are raised, not impressed into the base. There does not seem to be a definitive end to the top and bottom edges. The edges smoothly curve into the end curves. This is not like Deschler bases. My friend reported the obverse looks superb. Well, the reverse has some issues to explain.
