    Letters on Golden Party Badge

I have owned 3 GPB for quite some time now and as I was studying them under a loupe one night, I noticed that one of them had "gold" letters instead of the usual silver on the front. It may be a variation of gold but it is definitely not silver.

Now this GPB, in my opinion, is of the earliest vintage because it has the safety pin with the "raised letters" on the back, no vent holes, and the method used to stamp the numbers.

Have anyone seen these "gold letter" GBP? Thanks.

Raised letters/numbers reminds me of one of the common copies, please post some pictures.

I agree with our colleagues: photos of both sides of this piece are of primary importance in such a discussion, and you may also want to consult the website on this subject maintained by another of our colleagues, Stephen:

Looking forward to seeing photos soon,

          Br. James

Hi Jon, I assure you it's not a copy. In fact, I believe that the pin assembly and the raised Deschler and Sohn letters of this GPB is the same one on Stephen's GBP website.

            Happy to post pictures.

I'm very sorry to say that, since photography has never been one of my personal interests, I've never posted any photos on WAF or anywhere else...and I wouldn't know how to do it. I would be happy to look at your photos and give you my opinion on the originality of the piece, but that would only give you one person's opinion. I note that Stephen Lautens -- "sjl" of the GPB website -- will also accept photos and give his opinion, as well, so you might also consider sending your photos to him. And you might want to send a PM to both Jon Fish and der-hase-fee and ask each of them if they would post for you...they're both upstanding and respected colleagues here whom I've known throughout my time on WAF, and they both possess the aptitude to post photos...which I sadly don't.

              With all good wishes,

              Br. James

                Thank you James.

Could I ask someone for help to receive the pictures from me and to post the pictures please? Thank you.

Hugo Bruckmann's GPB is one to have, no doubt.

The piece shown in this thread may be the one at the top of this funeral pillow.

More pictures from his state funeral 6th September 1941:

Congrats on having a very special GPB. No need to worry regarding the gold lettering because the silver
                          Finish has just worn off.

Thank you for the photos of the Hugo's funeral. It will be a welcome addition to my file.

My interest was in collecting low number and special GPBs. My other GPB is #12 attributed to Philip Bouhler.

Wow, two double digit GPBs ! I do not remember having seen Bouhler's yet. Would you mind posting pictures, please. Do you also have Bouhler's party book ?

How were you able to hide in the closet for so long ???
