Dear fellow collectors,
some of you still remember my post about the grand opening of my Museum at Mannheim/Germany in 2012.
A lot has been done since then, and I think its time to do an update for you all!
The museum is still in the air-raid bunker from 1943 and since about a year I do now have the whole bunker as an museum, meaning 2 floors and the basement which is now our archive.
The top floor deals with the time frame 1900 to 1945, Schuette Lanz airships, WW1 and the main core WW2. ( my main collecting field is the political section, HJ (171) and SA Gruppe Kurpfalz) All exhibits are from the greater Mannheim region, showing school classes how it was back then and all in color. The other floor deals with the US occupation since 1945 and the history of the US Army Garrison Mannheim till its closure in 2014.
The museum is a public museum, accredited by the town and country, which was not easy to get, but now all is fine and we have quite some visitors.
So, if you are passing by Mannheim, let me know and I give you a tour!
Here now pictures as the museum looks Jan 2017.
As I said before almost all items are original, unless otherwise marked, e.g. the SS Uniforms are not all original and the Deutschland Erwache Standarte is an repro!
