    Silverware Reichskanzlei

May I ask for your help please?

I´m confident, that these pieces are original silverware of the old "Reichskanzlei", but maybe I can get some opinions please?

Thank you very much for your help!

According to Jim Yannes in his "Encyclopedia of Third Reich Tableware," this tableware pattern probably came from right next door to the Reichschancellery -- from the Foreign Ministry Office. In that reference work, p.110-111, we are shown an identical example of the flatware pattern your pieces present, including the fact that they were produced in 'sterling silver' -- .925 silver content -- which is unusual for German flatware. Yannes discusses his example under the title of "Joachim von Ribbentrop," and the only difference between your examples and the example Yannes shows us is in the maker's mark, which has a slight difference. He tells us that the manufacturer was Gebrüder Sauerland of Berlin.

        Handsome pieces all!

Information from Mr. Yannes are uncertain. In his books, half of the subjects this blatant forgery. Good only popular cutlery canteens and some other more well-known subjects. Most of it is fantasy.
