Lebensborn 1932

Hi everybody,

I bought this book in Germany, but i want to know what the value of this item is. I know it's the first year they printed the book. I found a simular one for sale on the site odd43.com. But i think it's overpriced on this site.
I anyone could help, that would be great!

Hi Steven,

I found a Lebensborn 1928 magazine in the web, so 1932 can't be the earliest printing. These magazines are worth 5-10$.

I guess I'm just ignorant about the Lebensborn Program, so I find this thread of educational interest. I checked Wikipedia -- not always a reliable source -- and found the following quote:

"The Lebensborn e. V. (e.V. stands for eingetragener Verein or registered association), meaning "fount of life", was founded on 12 December 1935, to counteract falling birth rates in Germany, and to promote Nazi eugenics. Located in Munich, the organization was partly an office within the Schutzstaffel (SS) responsible for certain family welfare programs, and partly a society for Nazi leaders."

Checking the SS-DALs, I note that the first year of that publication which listed whether an SS officer belonged to the Lebensborn Program or not was 1937.

But according to what I read here, this program originated as early as 1927...ten years earlier than when it began being listed in the DALs. Is this early organization the same as the SS Lebensborn Program, or is the early group no relation to the later program? I look forward to your responses!

The Third Reich Organisation "Lebensborn e.V." has nothing to do with this Lebensborn Calender published by Willibald Ulbricht in 1927.
The word Lebensborn roughly translates to "Fountain of Life" in german Leben (Life) and born is derived from Brunnen or Quelle (Fountain)
The magazine shown here and published by Ulbricht was made for the refined Youth in that Time. Imo more for students, young artists etc.
Its not a extensive explanation but i hope it helps to understand.
