Hi Vic,

This is an SA Military Defense Badge, 3rd Issue, Bronze Grade -- the last of the series of SA Sport Badges, issued during wartime. The badge's finish appears to have deteriorated a bit over the decades but it is still a nice piece.

Nice Badge!
No worries on originality.......these are so plentiful, I don't think they were ever reproduced en masse, if at all. The main problem I've seen is guys trying to turn a bronze badge into a silver one or a gold one.
