This post-1939 PL revision armband of a Reichsleiter looks OK to me, though I don't know how it is being identified with Baldur von Schirach or any other individual person?

The armband is photographed upside-down...which is the way von Schirach wore his in at least some photographs!

    Cheers,

    Br. James

What links this to the RJF? Reason I ask is that there are currently some RJF collar tabs listed on Weitze that are attributed to the RJF but are most certainly fake tabs. I am curious if someone with an old collection has sold up items supposedly related to the RJF. What provenance does this and the tab listed have? If it comes from the same source as the Axmann collar tabs at Weitze I would personally be very skeptical of the attribution.

Looks like a nice original to me, and very nicely toned down as well

Great. Thanks everyone for your comments!

According to our consignor, this armband belonged to Baldur von Schirach. It was found in a a rubbish bin after von Schirach left Vienna in 1945. The finder young removed it from the tunic which he did not bother to take. Other items were found as the single unworn collar tab. It was then purchased by a Austrian antique dealer and ended up in a Austrian collection where it remained for decades. The finder and the antique dealer have both passed away some time ago so we have no chance to proof this information however, there were not too many Reichsleiter so the chances are definitely given I believe.

Jeff Clark and the others are correct, an outstanding and original 1939 pattern Reichsleiter Brassard...however,
as to the attribution to von Schirach...at this point untenable, excluding documentation or other form of provenance.

Agreed regarding the attribution. An anecdote about the item being found in a trash bin in Vienna is not so solid evidence IMO.
