Just got this eagle in with some other German bits from a ETO vet, very thick and solid hat eagle type. I suppose it could be from a photo album or the like. Has anyone seen one like it before?

Nice and interesting bird Jerry but all the cap eagles of this type I have seen so far were hollow stamped, not solid. Judging from the rivet like studs on the back I agree this type was intended for a different application (removed from a presentation plaque?). Hope you can find out more
