Bruckmann Silver Mark on Reich Chancellery Formal Pattern

Hi guys, just looking for a little advice. I have a coffee set and tray in the AH formal pattern with the Greek key border. I am slightly dubious about it however and wonder what you think of the silver marking. Does it look right to you guys? This mark is off the tray.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Trays with the eagle and AH monogram are not good

Those marks are curious... The hallmarks appear to be those of the Bruckmann firm, and the name within a cartouche also looks genuine, but the hallmarks and the cartouche are not seen together on one article, in my experience. The hallmarks indicate some degree of solid silver, running from .800 to .925 or even .935, and the cartouche is normally found on silver-plated items.

The P. Bruckmann & Sons firm was a silver cutlery firm and they specialized in producing vast amounts of tableware services. This did not normally extend to platters, plates, boxes, etc., which were usually provided by another silver firm, that of August Wellner's Sons. A serving plate bearing these hallmarks would not be something I would want for my collection.

        Hope this is helpful,

        Br. James
