    Surely not original...

The tea pot and lighter on estand with 1936 Olympic markings is surely Polish fantasy pieces?

I like the cigarette lighter (not the price though) Looks like nice quality engraving and NO swastika.
The tea/coffee/hot water pot is a different kettle of fish!! Ha, joke, sort of.
    Regards,
    Pete

                  Hello Gentlemen,

I'm the one that sold the coffee pot. Thanks for reaching out Phronsias. You guys are confident that this item is a fake? Can anyone provide details on why? The inscriptions on the coffee pot are not engraved, they are molded into the item. If it were an engraved piece, I would have stayed away from it. And since they went through the trouble of molding the inscription in the item, why haven't we've seen more of these around? I wouldn't think they would create a mold for a one off item. Please advise.

Praubal, if it's a lump of junk...I have not problem reaching out to the buyer and offering a full refund. I stand behind the products I sell.

                  Thanks!

Firstly, the Olympic rings are an "own creation", and secondly, the firstly is enough

The item was won from a David Feldman auction, in Geneva Switzerland, which the auction was Olympic specific. They claim to have experts proof these items prior to offering them up for sale. We know how fakes can slip by at auctions. Regardless, I have an inquiry out to David Feldman questioning the items authenticity. I'll post their response.

Yes, it is on page 149 here.

Nice fantasy badge on page 146 too
Fakes at every auction, always have been and always will.

LOT 30648 would have gone nicely with the "pot" its the same home-made POS.

There were rules and regulations that governed the 1936 (usage of the) Olympic rings, as well as what items were allowed to be produced and which items were not. As well as how they had to look.
This can be read on many pages, covering the period before the games in the UM papers. As well as mentions of what items were confiscated, deemed unfit, etc etc....

It is all too common to find old pieces of worthless "tableware" that have been jacked up with some or other crap on them by way of etching or soldered on badges, symbols etc....
But, the auction has just ended a few weeks ago? already selling both lots from it? May i ask why? Or were they bought for resale?
Just seems like a pretty quick "buy n sell"?

For your information, this isn't "tableware"....and it isn't etched, engraved or soldered. It's a miniature piece that was molded with the inscriptions.

As far as reselling. I collect and I resell, I have a business... What are you inferring?

I will also add, this was made to be a souvenir, not some official state piece with precise tolerances.
