Hello Forum Members, I was told this was a Matchbox, ashtray and Menu holder from a Casino. What do you guys think, I got it from a German Picker from Belgium many years ago, at least 25 years ago.

Always a big problem with items like this: who on earth going to tell this is a period item or just postwar fantasy...

As Wim said..impossible to tell on this one if engraved just yesterday or many moons ago.. the engraving looks selfmade not industrial made....the matchbox holder itself is old but the engraving i dunno..looks not very promisingComment

I think the more common German spelling is with a "K". Agree?
I DO believe that "Kasino" could refer to an officer's mess.
A. Extremely rare & valuable SS matchholder.
B. Post-war engraved old matchholder.

I've seen a few types of engraving on metal items on markets in Germany mainly coming out of Poland, alot bearing the SS symbol like this, usually emblazoned on matchbox holders so I'm afraid from experience I'd pass on this one, but it's just an opinion on my personal experiences on flea marketsComment
