    Help with HJ banner

    Everyone,

I was wondering if someone could help me identify exactly what I have here before I list it in the for sale section. I know that it is German Youth. Is it like a group or section leaders trumpet banner? I haven't been able to find anything like it anywhere else, so am I to assume that it is somewhat uncommonly seen?
Any help with the identification would be appreciated. Thanks.

Post it over in the Flags section. Much more likely to get better responses there.

          HJ-Gebiet 25

          Hello,

We have here a trumpet banner for the DEUTSCHES JUNGVOLK fanfare (10 to 14 years old boys, equivalent of the CUB SCOUT) of Hitlerjugend-Gebiet 25 "Saarpfalz".

Saarpfalz is a region of west of Germany and historically, this region is bavarian (!)... even if Bavaria is somewhere else in Germany.

This region fanfare, like all the others region fanfares, was composed of members carefully chosen playing only on important occasions. There were fanfares on other levels (Gefolgschaft = company / Bann = regiment / etc) but yours is the higher.

          Best regards

Debertex is of course 100% correct. The highest level fanfare of the Gebiet. Desirable fanfare.

Looks to be the same banner as here (post #3):

DJ fanfare banner regulations and changes to Landjahr fanfare banners 1940

                Nice.

It appears to be the same banner Garry, agreed. This banner also makes an appearance in "Youth Led By Youth" volume 1 page C2. Must be part of the old Baker collection.
