Hello all,

I picked this one up and the backing almost looks pink rather than red, which I have not seen before. To me this appears authentic but I would appreciate some additional opinions if at all possible please, thank you!

I believe this tab was once a Reich Hauptbereichsleiter and over Oberbereichsleiter because if you look at the bottom it appears to be missing a device.

Could the color difference throughout the tab possibly come from being washed?

hello fellow wehrmacht collectors... this is an original (although very salty) reichs level tab, as denoted by the carmine (pink) backing and yellow piping...and you are right sydney, it has seen quite a bit of weather/water damage, visible on both the cloth and the metal fittings.

Also, you are correct all1knew, this is originally an NSDAP Hauptbereichsleiter tab (with 2 sets of long oakleaves at the bottom), however, someone has purloined the additional oakleaf bar at the bottom (the holes at the base are the telltale, as well as the position of the remaining bar above the vacancy) or it was damaged and fell out, which would fit with the condition of the tab and the remaining metal devices.
