Can you take a photo of the front of the face showing where the bisection was made?
Does it appear to have been made as 1/2 of a bust or do you think it was cut. From what I can see, the detailing and quality looks fine and I would think it is potentially an original. I've never seen a 1/2 bust like this, assuming it has the depth of half of a standard bust, rather than as a flatter plaque.

Thanks--judging from the frontal photo, this is a bust that was cut in half for some reason. It appears to be original but what the value would be for something like this I don't know. It's certainly worth less than 1/2 of an undamaged bust.

Agree with Erich.

This bust was discovered a couple months ago buried in the gardens of the National Museum in Gdanzk:



About 50 cm (more than 20 inches) tall.

I WOULDN"T HAVE IT ....total ruin of an historical artifact...same as owning half a dagger ,flag ,armband ,etc ... EC
