Nazi Wehr Eagle w/ Globe Silver Dinner Fork - Any Chance?

Not familiar with this insignia - looks like a Wehr eagle on a globe (the detail on the photos is bad, but you can see Europe and Africa). Eagle is slightly more gold than the silver fork.

I don't care for the looks of the hallmark, but I know little about silver and don't know what any of that means. Any chance this fork is legit?

It looks like it is "trying" to be Diplomatic....I'd pass on it. Let us see what the SMEs will comment.

Ah, yes. Okay, I found this insignia of the Diplomatic Corps on this egg cup pic on another site (I can't speak to whether the cup is genuine either, only that the insignia is similar). So at least in theory, this is what it is supposed to be.

Well, using the Diplomatic Corps as a jumping-off point, I was able to identify the silverware (I picked up a dinner knife as well). It was apparently from the formal silverware for state dinners (among the best available) of the German Foreign Ministry.

This from James Yannes' The Encyclopedia of Third Reich Tablewear, p. 546-547:

I owned a pin with the same eagle years ago.
this pattern was used by Ribbentrop diplomatic services

Here's the pair. While the fork is very well-made, the knife seems kind of flimsy to me - the handle is light (hollow and filled, I assume), and the blade is kind of thin.

I'll wager there used to be a spoon when this came home in someone's pocket, but it's long gone now. Too bad, it would have been an interesting tool for stirring coffee.
