    Amazing early SA named photo album

    My friend has this amazing photo album. It has well over 100 photos in good condition. He was told that the album is for Paul Fassbach, and that he was a Gruppenfhurer in the early photos, then a Brigadefuhrer. He was one of 178 of the top 3 ranks in the SA.

    Any more info you can provide would be helpful. My friend does not collect this kind of stuff so he will be looking to sell.

    Here are some of the photos. There are dozens more photos that I have not shown.

              Very nice.

              Love the photo of the SA men having a beer in Nuremberg.

              In the last photos, it isn't very clear on my screen (at work), is it distribution of daggers?

                Great photos all! The time span depicted in these photos seems to be from the late 1930s until war's end, including the photo of Mussolini's and Clara Petacci's bodies.

                One slight comment: the rank of Gruppenfuehrer was superior to that of Brigadefuehrer.

                Cheers,

                Br. James

                  Here the development and promotions for Paul Fassbach:

                  September 1, 1933 he was a Standartenführer, leading Brigade 70 (Recklinghausen). Earlier he was the leader for Standarte 143 from Gruppe Westfalen;
                  November 15, 1933 he was promoted to Oberführer, leading Brigade 70 (Gelsenkirchen);
                  April 20, 1934 he was promoted to the rank of Brigadeführer;
                  January 7, 1935 he was leading Brigade 65 (Detmold), which was official per September 15, 1935;
                  January 30, 1942 he was promoted to the rank of Gruppenführer.

                  I forgot an important date:
                  February 1, 1942 he was promoted and ordered to be the leader for the SA-group of Westfalen. His leading function for brigade 65 was cancelled January 31, 1942.

                  As you see he had to wait seven years for a new promotion. As there are photos where the chevron is worn photos are to be dated
                  at least as early 1934.

                    Fantastic pic of the daggers being unwrapped, you should post it in the
                    edged weapons section
