    KdF Ausweis?

Has anybody ever come across a Kraft durch Freude ausweis before? I picked it up because it looks super cool, and the KdF has been growing on me. From the Gau of Dusseldorf. Did a google search and some searches on other forums and didn't come up with anything. Although the KdF was a very large movement overall, there wasn't too many workers for it, so would this be a rare piece? I have a few more pictures that the seller provided if needed.

Great to see another! So these are pretty rare then? I'll give it a post in the document forum later today to see what others can say there as well.

        Hi,

KdF items are of particular interest to me, one of my collecting themes for a few years now - I have never seen one of these ausweis before.
        Thanks for showing!

        Best wishes,

        John.

KdF had a subsection called "Freude am Feierabend". The members were singing and there was a

theatre Group. This Ausweis seemed to come from a member of such a Group (Feierabend

          Veranstaltungen).

You see in the last line "Reihe:..." and "Gruppe....". These items are related to theatre and

song performaces. There was a special KdF "Amt Feierabend".

          " KdF umfasste folgende Ämter:
          1. das Amt "Feierabend" veranstaltete Theateraufführungen, Konzerte u. a., die bis 1938 von ca.
          38 Millionen Menschen besucht wurde..."

Many thanks for the info Gerdan! Pretty much exactly what I wanted to know.

Just finally dove into some smaller KdF stuff for now. Always liked their stuff, but armbands always come up first. Had some extra $$ and this came up so took the plunge!!

There was also a Sondergruppe within the KDF, called Sammeln am Feierabend. That was a group for collectors of Third Reich badges, awards and documents. They too had their own Ausweis like this one. The IDs shown here fell under the, Amt: Feierabend - Abteilung: Freude am Feierabend.

The other i mentioned under, Amt Feierabend - Abteilung Sammeln am Feierabend - Gruppe Zeithistorische Dokumente.

Maybe there were even more. Really scarce ID`s, thanks for posting them

A bit late to the party, but here's mine. It's part of a little grouping. I have seen only two or three others over the years.

                Best regards,
                Gaston

                    Hi,

Nothing too spectacular, i got it for the KDF pass. It's nice to compare the pictures of the owner though.

                    best regards,
                    Gaston

                      Hi,

I think this ausweis may have been issued to KdF members at the "Schaffendes Volk" exhibition held in Dusseldorf in 1937.
Have just received several postcards from this event, and the cover of the ausweis shown is clearly one of the focus buildings used in this event, with a DAF cog-wheel on the roof.
Must be quite rare, thanks for showing!

                      Best wishes,

                      John.

Interesting thread. I didn't realize these were uncommon. I bought mine years ago on e-Bay for very little. Here it is...

Didn't notice you had replied Gaston. Cool little group either way!

Interesting observation John. Could be, as there is nothing that I've gotten from it that could 100% pin point it to 1 specific use, unless I'm wrong.

Curt, yours has a very low number!

Pretty funny that a bunch of people had these, but none had ever popped up on the forum before.
