    Unusual HJ Armband

Has anyone ever seen an HJ Armband like this one?

This is "one of those things" ... don't recall seeing another in 58 years of collecting/dealing.... my instincts say:

Probably BDM (if real), handstitched diamond obviously added to a white band- could be "ersatz" or could be "made to deceive".... a better look at the "band material"/sewing/etc. might help... knowing "where it came from" (vet lot/picker/collector/walk-in with no story...) might help... but very easily made using a very common insignia & cloth... very easily aged- so impossible to say on originality... looks like something plausible "in l945 use and wear" however, so could be 100%...

Would consider it an oddity and relatively "low value" retail-wise, but would add it to my collection, if I was confident it was legit.... but I'm not convinced by what I'm seeing.... soiling, stamp mark, look "suspicious" (too good!)...and I'd more expect a BDM stamp... but could have been operating under HJ Authority (?)... I suppose.

I'm sure this "mirrors" you're thoughts as well.... best I can say about it.

I have never seen one in a period photo or regulation personally.

The diamond doesn't seem symmetrical from the photos

For me, the member insignia looks period from the photos, just stretched or something. When, why, and where it was added to the backing armband? A photo or mention of a regulation would provide a tangible answer, until such evidence it's all speculation IMO.

A direct veteran purchase, it came with a lot of other HJ insignias. I am sure it was non-regulation, but I believe some type of sport's official or sport assistant to games or events. I was hoping someone here had seen one before.

Interesting is that the stamp does say Hitler Youth on the bottom, so the stamp matches up as well. I have seen something similar, I'll have to post it later.
