Gauleiter cap sa please help -

    Hello everyone,
Please for information on this cap.
There was color roundels black? May properly be red ...?
And what processing branches with acorns? It should be properly without acorns ...?
    Thank you for your feedback.
    Good day everyone

    Hi Metallwerke,

Are you asking about a photo? If so, there was none attached to your note. As you know, to post photos one is required to be an Association Member.

    Cheers,

      Hi again,

Sorry that I didn't notice that you had posted photos separately. I am certainly no expert on such caps, but in my opinion the cap you show is not standard for the post-1939 NSDAP uniform code revision. The roundel should have a red surround, not black, and the swastika in the center of the roundel should be black on a gold base, not gold on a red base. The oakleaf surround is also non-standard, as is the eagle above it; you're right that the standard design did not include acorns on the surround. And further, the piping appears to be too thick.

Perhaps this was a privately-made piece? Hopefully others here can add further clarification.

      Cheers,

      Br. James

I agree with Br James and Stonemint

Not sure about authenticity of the components/parts but at the very least you definitely have mismatched and incorrect insignia . The eagle is M39 SA eagle in silver (instead of gold for NSDAP) the wreath which also looks silver is not the M39 NSDAP style but rather the type worn by the forest admin branch (Reichforstbeamt in gold and Staatforstbeamt in silver if memory serves me right) which is worn with the standard Reich 3 colour cockade not the NSDAP cockade and a different (right facing) style eagle. Your NSDAP cockade is of the early (first?) type which predates the use of wreaths on NSDAP caps. I have attached a picture of the proper insignia (top) for the later NSDAP cap version as well as the Forestry wreath used on yours with the proper national cockade (below) for comparison.
