Hey everyone. Haven't posted new stuff for a while, but that's because due to the virus thing it all got stuck somewhere between Germany and North America. But a lot of new, cool stuff is coming and hopefully soon.
Meanwhile , here is one image I don't believe was ever published on WAF, but I may be wrong .
Enjoy!Attached Files

The latest addition to my cultural wooden plate collection.
But this one is not just some, yet another plate by an unknown maker. This one is not only marked, but also bares the name of the master carver who happened to be a pretty known artist in the 30's with works displayed at der Architektur-Ausstellung in München.
If the maker's mark look familiar, it must be due to the fact that Thorsten has another plate by this artist, which he had shown several times in the past. I'll post it here anyways , hope Thorsten won't mind.
And the photo of the master himself in his studio.
BTW, the plate is named " Nordische" as is written on the back.Attached Files

Great - I´ll add another example of his Nordische series.
By the way: 24 Reichsmark was quite a lot of money for one carved wooden plate.Attached FilesLast edited by Thorsten B.; 05-16-2020, 03:06 PM.

As I understand, these were one off custom works of art by someone with the name.

I detected my depicted SS wedding plate in an offered and mixed bunch of wooden plates offered on german Ebay more than ten years ago.
The pics of the offered three or four plates were not that sharp and no backside pics, either. Two were definitely post-war made but this one appeared to be simply more luxurious.
The seller from the area around the city of Dortmund had no clue about the meaning of this one and I found and bought them all in one lot.
I just noticed a kind of tree of life symbolism on it´s surface and when the parcel arrived I was more than delighted.
