not trying to validate the brownshirt or attachment of strap,as they were done this crudely at times, but WHAT is teh strap??? Reminds me of Sonderfuhrer for SS or Wehrmacht ...what a strange strap!!

Im sure teh brownshirt may be made up,but that is not what im asking.. all insignia and collar cord look legit, tabs handsewn//Gold buttons correct for Nederrhein too,,wear on strap doesnt seem to match wear on collar piping..so probably a put together or at least partly... but again not the issue..issue is WHAT could this strap be?? a SA specialist of some sort??As the strap looks like good materials used, and construction..??anyone else..its very interesting.

                  shirt

The rank pip for Niederrhein should be gold-colored, not silver. Assuming it IS silver, as the photo suggests, the 2 tabs don't belong together. Tabs and collar piping DO appear to be original pieces, however.
PS: I just noticed that both tabs are sewn identically, with the same thread, meaning whomever attached the wrong rank tab, attached the unit tab also. Guaranteed it started out as a stripped shirt with collar piping.
                  The shoulderboard iS interesting.........who knows?

                    Shirt

Interestingly, if whomever assembled the uniform had used the right color pip, people would have believed there was a good chance the collar tabs were original to the shirt, despite the fact that the tab attachment is unusual, as is the blue thread. Stranger things have happened, though, as my Franken brownshirt has the tabs attached with what looks like homemade light pink thread.

Wonder if Bob Coleman would know about this strap? PIP couyld have gilt worn off also as gold buttons are good on rest of shirt..for this gruppe..

                        Pip

Look at the larger, magnified closeup of the rank tab. It is clearly silver. The shirt isn't legit, and is worth no more than the value of it's components.
NOTE: STILL........a desirable shirt for someone who wants to save money on a brownshirt, as an early shirt with original collar piping is usually hard to find. I see nothing wrong with building up a shirt with original parts, as a stripped brownshirt is pretty useless. However, I doubt the selling price was any bargain.

right!! yeah it was a leap on the pip but i have seen giltless pips...anyhow the mystery is the strap...

                            Pips

I may have misunderstood you, but during the bi-color piping era, ALL SA Gruppes that wore gold buttons, also wore gold pips and devices unless they didn't understand the regulations. If this was a later-era shirt, Niederrhein (and all SA) would have silver pips, but in this case, the pip should definitely match the gold buttons.
YES....I'm ALSO curious about that strap.

I know Ive owned 9 SA brownshirst and 3 tunics,I meant by giltless that sometimes the gold comes off and leaves the silver beneath so one that began as gold can indeed look silver..so a shirt with gold buttons liek this, could have a tab that began with a gold pip and the color came off over time..thats all! this one though seems to have been originally silver as I can see NO traces of gold in between grooves on pip...and teh tabs arent a matching set one is a different shade of black it seems,so teh rank tab is certainly Berlin/Brandenburg and not Neiderrhein
