These did exist, as shown in some period documents. They were worn by SS Luftwaffenhelfer.

Period pics of them in "Defending the Reich" in use. If you look, the proportions are different on the example shown and in period pics. This kind was also made in the 60's greatly, and it seems this one is one of those. The other pic is of a different type of Latvian SS Luftwaffenhelfer. Not sure of the difference.
