NSDAP Long Service - 15/25 Yr. Makers

    Hi Everyone

My intention with this thread is to gather info on all the different makers/designs/variants of the NSDAP 10, 15 and 25 years DA that is out there. Maker marked or not, different base metals and finnishes.

Of special interest are non makermarked crosses that are in makermarked boxes or just the MM box so we can get a complete list of makers and maybe indirectly name a maker to an unmarked cross

Please share catalogue prints, period photos and other stuff you find interesting about these medals.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will start this thread of with my buntmetal MM "19" Deumer 25 years cross. Easy to recognized by the small beak on the eagle. It is quite thin and made of two discs that are attached to the cross. What is especially interesting about these crosses is that the enamel on the cross arms are more paintlike and uneven than the enamel on the center discs.

    Hi Thomas,

All the 25 Year DAs I have on file are marked Deumers (19) with the exception of two.

This one is owned by Ron R and looks very good to me. Its not marked 19, nor does the eagle seem to match the Deumer examples like you show.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

The other 25 I find is supposidly a Souval, owned by Patrick W. Not sure if this is a wartime cross or not, but it does seem to be better quality than the typical Souvals we find (with well defined wing flaw and "o" mark on the reverse top rim).

So at this point I only know of 3 possible makers for the 25 DA:

        Deumer
        Unknown Maker (Ron R)
        Souval (Patrick W)

The 15 Yr DAs use the same die, and I know of at least 2 other possible makers of these in addition to the ones above:

        BH Mayer (marked 2)
M1/154 (marked cartons, but this maker is still unknown).

Nothing as rare as a 25 but if it can be of any use to this thread here are my 15 and 10 years NSDAP service crosses.

15/10 pair comprised of unmarked 15 years' in tombac and a 10 years' in anodized aluminum marked "21" on the medal ring. the set came with a matching lapel 15/10 mini marked 11/1???
but cant make out the complete number which is partially hidden by the welding/clips

Cant say wether the single 10 year drapery mounted zinker is marked or not because the cross is tightly secured to the ribbon but to me the design looks identical to that of the '21' marked aluminum 1o year cross so it could be a later version by the same maker

          Regards

Jean-Claude, the maker ought to be M11/1 for Steinhauer&Lück.

            cheers

I'll put my 15 in just because I can't ID the maker's mark. Here it is-

edit- This one will be going to the e-stand in the near future.

Tom: The second 25 you post is a beauty but I'm unable to tell the maker. The Souval is common as 15 years often MM 30. Its easily recognized by its not so pretty eagle.

Jean-Claude: Very small pics, but your 10 years lightweight is also encountered with MM 14 Gebr. Jäger Gablonz, MM 15 Karl Wurster besides 21 as yours from MM Josef Hillebrand Gablonz.

dirtfisherrob: Yours is 99% sure a Souval and the ring is stamped 30.

Thanks all, incl. Peter, for posting

Heres a 10 years old unknown maker (to me) that once resided in my collection. Notice the very prominent beak on the eagle.

                      Hi Thomas,

                      Is that a one-piece tombak?

                      Thanks

                        Hi Peter

Long time no speak...Here you go: same picts (the only ones I have) but larger of the mini-combo as requested. 11/1 ??? you may be right but I always beleived it was a longer number and the last digit(s) were hidden by the clips or burried in weld

                        Cheers

                          Thanks for the insight Thomas

Sorry for the small pictures but I figured I only had common stuff to show so I tried to fit as much as I can in one post just to provide an overview

Here is a very nice period Souval 25 year medal- complete with flaw on the left wing and original ribbon, sometimes these are marked L58 on the ring-but not this one,
                            Cheers.

Here is a 15 year with an eagle that is fairly similar to Dirtfisherobs but the font on the reverse is quite different. This one is unmarked.
