Golden Party Pin - is it original?

This picture shows a typical one, the "J" close to the rim. I am sure you are aware of this, Stephen !

I have seen them closer to the top or bottom. It makes me think that whatever held the pinplate for pressing the Fuess name in it was off center, and it came out either closer to the top or bottom depending on how you put in the blank. It's a perfectly centered maker name on the pinplate that is an earmark of the modern fakes.
