I agree with Jeff. The document itself appears to be from the period, but the attached photos don't seem to correspond with the details written on the document. The photo on the left appears to be of an SA-Mann wearing an Altekämpfer stripe on the right arm of his Traditions Brownshirt, but the Ausweis states that the holder joined both the NSDAP and the SA on May 1, 1933 -- too late to qualify for the stripe.

The one possibility is that the bearer had belonged to the HJ from May of 1932 and I am unsure of whether this fact would have qualified him to be considered an "Old Fighter" or not...? I look forward to further responses in this regard.

          Ausweis

I think JUNGO is correct. I've never seen a snapshot-type photo on an ausweis, and I've never seen 2 photos used. Unless this was common practice, the photos may have been added to a photo-less ausweis, so it might not even be the same fellow. Isn't the photo usually stapled?

This might be a complete fake--I've seen some newly made examples printed on that cloth paper stuff offered for sale as copies--I've never seen this pattern pressed into the cloth paper on an original.

              Ausweis

Not only THAT, but his low rank makes it almost impossible for him to be a rabbi, as the green and white ink-stamp on the front suggests.

I agree the ausweis itself could be fake..in hand would be better to be certain..the photos are pure bunkum and added for effect
