    E-Stand SA Marine Collar Tabs.

Hey everyone. I was hoping some of you guys could give me your opinions and help on these SA Marine collar tabs. I don't see any problems but I'd like to be sure since I'm no expert on these.
I can't post pictures so here is the link.
    Thanks for your time.

    Luke

I agree wholeheartedly. VERY nice!!! The anchor was used on the tab until 1938/1939, but the tabs look much earlier than that. Maybe 1933 era. Marine SA started in 1929. Yummy, yummy tabs!! BTW, normally, metal numerals on SA tabs were RARELY used, but it seems the Marine SA used them extensively.

            Hello,

Does anybody know where the IV stands for? Is the colour navyblue?

            Regards,

Roman numerals in the SA designate either Sturmbann or Obergruppe. So.......either "Sturmbann IV" or "Obergruppe IV". Not sure which.

With Sturmbann there should be added a Latin number with a slash, isn't? Anyway with regular SA.

In my opinion it is Obergruppe, an indication which was used shortly. Came into being in about spring 1933 and was replaced by the abbreviation at the end of the year. Obergruppe IV was Dresden in July 1933 (Sachsen and Mtte). Before that date IV shortly was Ingolstadt (about March) and Munich (about April). In July 1933 Munich became VII.

Remind: the Roman number only was worn by members of a staff (Angehörige Obergruppenstab - Römische Zahl).

                          Tabs

I agree with Mr. Saris that it's most likely "Obergruppe IV". Standarte numerals are in Arabic. Beautiful, original tabs, and as was stated, RARE!!
