a great pleasure to have a look at this material. The photos with the wearing of the brocades are for me of an even more and bigger interest and should find a place in a buckle- and brocades book. I know someone who is working at such book (in Germany).

Fascinating--a literal trip thru time.
Dr. Jaeger really got around--he was the General Consul in Louisiana in 1930. Here is a humerous article about a "breech of protocol" by the "kingpin", Huey Long during a visit by the Captain of the Kreuzer Emden:
