I saw some DAF egg cups on the Ratisbon's auction and thought to myself...ummm nice might have a bid on them....until I looked at the photos!!

First photo looked good. Second one will send you running to the hills!

Although Klaus has been emailed the correct back stamp, as shown above, the egg cups are still listed. Current bidding price has reached €86, not a huge sum of money but still a lot for reproductions.

Do the egg cups, with the accepted black markings, have the red/orange stripes? I am just wondering if markings were changed over the period or they were akways marked in black.

Original DAF messhall ware comes plain white or has red/orange, blue, green or yellow rims. The back stamp always has the words "Modell des Amtes Schönheit der Arbeit" around the swastika, no matter who the maker is.

The Bauscher Weiden back stamp can be found in either black or green.

Some of my collection from a few years ago, I have not taken any since then but it has grown quite a lot.

Even the cutlery was marked Modell des Amtes Schönheit der Arbeit but they shortened it to MD.A Sch.d.A for easier stamping on the metal.

Thanks, but like I said in post 3 I emailed Klaus about these yesterday, he wrote back today and asked what was wrong with them. It was then that I sent him a photo of the correct back stamp. That was at 12:22 German time today and the time now is 20:56.
