    1933 Reichsparteitag badge in Silver

    Hey everyone,

here is my 1933 Reichsparteitag Badge in Silver. The silver variant is much more rare than the regular one. I especially like this one since it's marked Balmberger.

    Best regards
    Alex

Nice! And nicer still with the maker's marking. I've never seen a silver one that wasn't genuine silver, but this one certainly looks original. Do you know if it's made of nickel alloy?

Sorry to say, but I am not 100% convinced that this is original. I hope I'm wrong.

All the silver ones I have seen to date were marked 1000 on the reverse. I'd like to hear the input of some others on this badge.

I agree with Pete. IMO this is a cast piece and unlike the Balmberger badge in Bronze.

Here is the Bronze version made by Balmberger for comparison. All details should be the same on a Silver or Bronze badge made by the same company.

There are no signs of casting on the Bronze version.

Thanks for your opinion so far, please keep them coming.

Stan, the section you marked on the badge IMO is a typical sign of a worn die stamp. I'm positive that the badge is die stamped and not a cast piece.
Similar marks of worn dies can be seen on several of these badges. For example here on Ron's badges of another post here...

Pay attention to the "Nürnberg" section....

.... along the edge of the wing on the far right. Actually the same area that you marked on my badge...this one is also a balmberger badge btw...

.... The "Tag" section of Reichsparteitag ....

Another thing to note, I have compared this silver badge to my bronze balmberger badge, it's identical in size and weight to it's bronze counterpart.

                          Best regards,
                          Alex

                            pin- right. grade- wrong.

Undoubtedly an original Balmberger pin. Unfortunately one that has its historical and monetary value diminished by being recently silver plated IMO.

                            cheers

                            Matt

The silver piece doesn't put me at ease. Apart from those issues that have been discussed, there's superflurous material at the neck of the eagle which shouldnt be there.
