What do you guys think, there was no SA 718 according to my list nor Laurens, the tabs look period but the numbers stitching appears hand stitched to me which doesn't fit post 39 tabs I've seen before, Sean

I don't like the stitching at all. Plus, the piping is enlisted wartime piping, so the unit designation would be in a satin stitch and not in a poorly hand-done chain stitch. Sometimes the SA member would take older chain-stitched tabs and have them piped with the authorized war-time piping, but I'm sure that's not the case here.

Ive looked at my reference book..these maybe 7/8 as opposed to 718..7/8 is correct for Franken..but i agree the numbering stitching puts me off too but the tabs themselves do appear to be periodComment

Yes, the chain stitching are poorly done. After a second examination, I observe that the RZM-tag is on the rank tab, while following the rules, it must be on the unit tab. The prongs of the stars is another thing I don't like.

I've never seen an SA collar tab with a number "1" made this way. The 1 always has a slanted line at the top. Even a hand-made numeral would have this. It was how they were taught to make a "1" since kindergarten. I don't like the pips either.Comment
