That's what I was trying to say that he was the reason we all collect what we collect. Not that he was the best person to own a group from because of who he was. Have any of you guys been able to examine the group up close? And as the price goes I was told at the show it would start at a million. Now that could have been just hall talk I don't know. Good to see some interest in the thread keep the comments coming guys.

The tunic is part of a large grouping that was "captured" by a US Officer during the War and is well documented. They were stolen in the late 1960s and ended up in an NY auction and then after a lawsuit he recovered money from the sale. You can see the items and some of the history here-

After reading one of the links below they seem to imply there could be a fake in the group. It does show evidence the group has been around and known for some time. But the statement saying there is a chance some of the dealers added items or slipped in a fake worries me.

Does anyone know if GG has been made any offers on the group yet? In the story from the link he says he want a million just for the visor. So if the visor is a million what could the tunic and awards be worth? Would you guys say that the tunic and awards would be worth more then the visor? And what about the blood order would it be number 1? In my opinion the blood order should be the most valued piece of the group.

I value your opinion as I have learned most of what I know of the blood order from your post. I started this thread to hear what you guys think of the items in the group. No problems then, just getting fed up all year with CG bashing threads, culminating in his expulsion.
The group, I understand, came from Steve Wolfe. Steve is good with his political medals and I understand the medal to be correct. However I have not seen it, the reverse, and so cannot draw a conclusive conclusion myself I'm afraid.

Don't see why we can't take CG out of it and discuss the uniform. Also don't see why any TR collector would have problems with items related to Hitler. I also agree if the grouping was good and I had the funds I would love to buy it.

The last photo in the link shows the interior and the Holters logo and sweat shield.
The lettering looks all off and out kilter. The shield itself doesn't look like celluloid but modern plastic.

The whole grouping was known to be stolen from Lieber and then showed up with Roger Steele. Roger, a notorious faker was rumored to have made 'a set or two' extra.

I'm no expert, but I been around for a long time.
For me, the two points above, plus who's selling it today, makes me want to say....
