Gruppenfuhrer tabs for reviews/help please

Hello gentlemen
I dont collect very much on the political side but bought this lot
at an onlien auction. The listing said all were authentic. The SS rune tab
looked good to me, but was unsure about the SA tabs.
I forwarded the pics after I won to a member that informed me that the
SA tabs are bad. I totally trust his opinion but wanted to start a thread in case I need to present my evidence to the auction company.
Ive informed them and they are looking into it.

You will need much better pictures in close up of the SA Gruppenfuhrer tabs to receive an accurate appraisal. I do not see how anyone can make a judgement from what you have shown. Early tabs come in numerous different patterns.

Here are the new reproductions being sold on eBay for $16.00, pretty decent if you ask me.

Hi Guys

I know the pics are lacking a bit, sometimes there's something obvious that stands out on some items that is giveaway one way or another, so I thought I'd post them.

They dont look like they are the same style of tab Bruce posted.

Any other thoughts?
When I recieve them, I'll take some better pics.

It's tough to be sure from those pics, but I believe the runic tab is one of these fakes:

Bob - I was basing my negative assessment on those SA Staff tabs on the fact that the edges of the leaves all go to a distinct sharp point, instead of being rounded like SA oak leave always are. The green, unfinished tab doesn't look right to me either, but I'm more concerned with the red pair.

I understand where you are coming from on the tabs. I always like to see close ups before making an opinion. I believe your assesment is correct including the gree tab.

I agree--I just saw these offered last week and, while not 100% accurate, they're pretty close and very reasonably priced.

IMO, even from the photos at the beginning of the thread, the SA tabs are reproductions. Closer photos would be helpful but the overall shape of the leaves does not correspond with any of the original patterns I'm aware of.
