    Gold Party Badge Stickpin?

Jamie Cross has just listed an LDO Golden Party Badge Stickpin on his update but that can't be right can it? Why would anyone wear a GPB stickpin when they could just wear the smaller size badge?

It's not original. The LDO was not involved with GPBs.

So there are mini GPBs? or is it that LDO never made these (as you mentioned).
          Thanks,
          Mil

Minis are the 24mm civilian badges and they had nothing to do with the LDO. Some of the small badges were converted by the owner to a stick pin like the Grimminger badge listed on the Ulric site a few years ago.

              I have a 30mm in the 98xxx range that is mounted with a stick-pin.

Joe, I have not seen a 30mm badge mounted on a stick pin. The original owners were inventive on their custom attachments.

                  How about a picture?

This is a AH 24 mm Gold Party Honor Badge, 30/1/1943 on a stick pin. This is not a redo from the holder, made by a jeweller, as in the Jacob Grimminger stick pin mentioned. I believe it was Deschler made.

The reason I believe this is from the factory is that the vent hole is beveled. Plus, the non-standard reverse hardware. In Patzwalls's book on the AH badges, he shows Von Brautisch's (Bad spelling) gold party badge set, large and small, dated 15/3/1939, with Hitler's signature for the take over of Prague, which has the identical beveling. There is also a B/W picture in Angolia's Civil and Political Badge book depicting the same badges, for those who don't have Patzwall's book.

In addition, the needle is non standard, and is too large and will not fit the standard German made security lock.

                        Opinions.

                              Hi Mil,

I guess that could be the case, but Jamie usually leaves items marked "sold" on his list for a while...??

                              Cheers,
