beautiful Rome - Berlin Axis Third Reich Art Tapestry!

    Hello
Id like to share with you my new acquisition i got in very lately.

It really is a stunning masterpiece of Third Reich Art Tapestry..symbolises the 1936 formed "Italy - Germany Axis"

I found one other example on Ruptured Duck website and one was shown here last year in the flag forum by Member Robs... I dont know if this was the same tapestry that is on the ruptured duck website?...if yes, this would make it only 2 known examples..maybe someone knows.

The German Historic Museum states (roughly translated:
The Tapestry illustrates the Axis of the national socialist Germany and the fascist Italy. It was probably produced in a bigger number of copies between 1936 - 1939(????)
Both examples of architecture, the italian Monumento Nazionale Vittorio Emanuele and the german Brandenburg Gate, facing towards each other..the symetric axis of both is completed by the romian Fasces Sign and the Swastika in the middle.
The 3 Medallions at the bottom symbolising the meaningful Elements of the National Socialism and Fascism. The Medallion on the right shows the town Nürnberg as capitol of the Reichsparteitage together with Mastersinger Hans Sachs - Incarnation of german Art & Culture... and the Medaillon on the left shows Neapel as starting point of the "March on Rome" 1922 and also the goddess Athena, as part of the Ancient Times. The Medallion on the middle shows the Reichsautobahn to link both countries.

    its a pretty large Tapestry with 176 x 126cm.

a pity i have no space to display such Beauty in my home...imagine this tapestry stretched on a wide golden frame...what a powerful art display it will make

Absolutely gorgeous. I, too, have run out of wall space, but I might have to reorganize if I had this fine piece.
