I think these prices are a bit low. In the last few years, I don't recall seeing any of these for under $300-$350. Helmut Weitze has four examples priced from $425 to just under $500. None of these are the 1943 edition which is the last and seems to be, the most coveted.

I agree. Hard to find one below $300.

This would appear to be the 1936 edition as there is no imprint on the lower portion of the cover showing an edition number. As was mentioned above, 200usd or lower is a very low price. Given the condition shown in the limited images shown I would say a fair value would be in the 300usd area here in the US.

Given the fact that these books were intended for internal Party usage and strictly prohibited from commercial /public sales, construction and the materials used in the book itself are not of the best quality. The books were to be used and then destroyed when the new edition would come along. Condition varies greatly with condition 1 books bringing absolute top dollar. An excellent condition first edition of the book shown above would easily fetch 500 Euros.

These books do not age well when handled all the time. The bindings are notoriously weak and given to splitting. The text block can become shaken resulting in pages coming loose. The cover fabric at the hinges easily splits further degrading values.

For those who might be asking, there are indeed 7 editions of this work including 2 versions of the 1 edition making for a total of 8 volumes for those cranks among us who thrive on variations. There are the 1st edition in 1936 with the aforementioned 2 cover varieties of, 1937 with the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th editions, 1938 with the 5th edition, 1940 has the 6th edition, and 1943, the 7th and final edition.

I should also note that the cover of the OP posted book bears the more common imprinted book title arrangement. The scarcer variety features the title in a single line.

              Cheers,

              Ramon

Good to see you posting Ramon. It has been a long time since I ran across a post of someone who loves the book variations as much as I do! Ramon is spot on and the price der-hase-fee listed would be for a very poor example. Though I have even seen poor examples of this book trade over $200 if the edition was sought after.
