Read the text under the second pic...doesn't it talk about a chest built by DHW? From the plain meaning of that isn't it safe to assume that this pattern was made during the TR? Therefore, isn't Thorsten onto something?

I clearly used period docs as there are:

    - SS Family book (published 1939) by SS-Ogf. Fritz Weitzel (picture of DHW Jul chest Typ 1)

    - "Innendekoration" from 1940 containing an article about the DHW in which this DHW Jul chest Typ 1 is without any doubt pictured and described as a product of the DHW.

    - one DHW booklet (published wintertime 1942/43) in which the DHW Jul chest Typ 2 is pictured and described.

I post these infos and pics to help you, to make you realize what they represent and simply because it is fun to share and discuss these things - collecting is having fun!
And lucky me via actively searching I am already owning both types of DHW Jul chests - these official SS treasures are still out there so I wish you and anybody else all the best to find them:

    Happy hunting!

I also have the magazine, it clearly says '...Truhe = abeiten des Deutschen Heimatwerks Berlin'. There's no doubting the pictured chest is a contemporary of the time product. The magazine is all about contemporary living, not historical, antique etc.

If anyone knows how to kiss ass it is you who did that to Thorsten. Go back and read some of your posts before you all had your disagreement.

Not thin skinned...just amazed that people interested in this narrow field cannot get along better.

My apologies if I have misconstrued your tone.
There is no tone on WAF only written words. You know that but it does not serve your purpose here in winning a childish argument not fit for adults. I will chalk up all the hours wasted helping you with your myriad private email questions as a learning experience with the ugly side of this forum.

          Simple

Common sense ought to allow for the fact that TR era ideas exemplified every type of art, architecture, furniture, lace making, song, dance, poems, legends, ad absurdum....

So all one needs to do is decisively prove their item is actually made during TR era and made by DHW.

Until then don't claim your items are MADE in and during TR era.

...or just don't demand everyone else agrees with your wishful thinking.

I own that and many other issues and to the best of my knowledge I was the first to post that pic in the old cultural thread.

Yes, it depicts a beautiful TR made chest. I have never questioned this.

So because one SIMILAR one as has been made for centuries is also pictured as made by the DHW now each and every similar one that has been around for centuries is suddenly original and everyone refuses to see how crazy this is? Thorsten chest is now accepted as an original SS chest made by the DHW?

And no-one cares to read Weitzel for themselves, to see he nowhere mentions that chest to be DHW or even made during the period 1933-19345? No one cares to point out that Weitzel is talking about German heriditary items instead of SS/NS/DHW. And no one cares to check if the dozens and dozens of references thorsten made to Weitzel are true?

Wow, the forum has gone crazy

                  Comment

I needed a few days off as im totally fed up with what is going on here again and again and am too tired of all this to even reply anymore, it's just not worth it anymore. I will make this last reply and after that keep quiet, like many before me, im done sharing information that cost me many hours to gather, only to just see Thorsten get away with everything after all. Magazines like Odal, Germanien, Hammer, et cetera et cetera are FULL with information that proves Thorsten wrong and shows the very same items are just German items from past times from way before 1933. But no one cares for that, right? Because it doesn't make any profit!

The forum doesn't want to be educated. As sad as it is WAF allowed Thorsten to destroy this whole area of collecting by himself and the moderators are still allowing him to do so. Why that is we can only guess, maybe it's a money thing, maybe they honestly have no clue what is going on, maybe they just don't care, or maybe they even support the idea that every forum needs a clown as that keeps things alive. Either way, it resulted in an enormous mess and instead of trying to clean it up, topics like this keep being allowed. Thorsten can still keep on destroying topics like the runic brooches topic and post all over the board his purposely made false claims to try to legitimate every German cultural item of whatever period, as a NS / SS or as we have now ended up with a new attempt: a "DHW" product, so that he can make more profit. It hurts to see this but im tired of it to reply and point out the mistakes and lies anymore. Happy collecting!

Whenever it get's too hot for Thorsten, Steve T jumps in to rescue him again and quickly post something else, i suppose he has a lot to loose as he bought a lot from Thorsten. Between this all we have Capt. R. confusing matters more and more lately, asking like crazy via mail and here on the board, supposedly trying to learn more but being mad when i don't reply every ten seconds on his e-mail bombs with questions. I helped a lot in the area of brooch collecting, only to see the good Capt.R now offering 20 euro brooches on the e-stand for 500 euro a piece! Wow, i now realise why all the questions about brooches were asked! I don't care if someone sells their items on the e-stand, we all have some spare items after all, but it leaves a very bad taste to see that this was only about profit and know i was just used by another forummember who only wants to make money and uses the WAF the same way as Thorsten does. From now on i won't share anymore information in this area as long as the forum allows Thorsten to continu posting. I have a few hundred brooches, maybe i should start selling them for 500 euro each too? It would make me a lot of profit too and i could probably pay off my house! Why do i even complain? Why have i ever been so stupid to invest so much time in trying to educate the community with facts and evidence, as i could earn more money than honest work can ever earn me? So, there you have it!

Im glad Michael pointed out that it takes many hours, sometimes days, to dig up information that someone without thinking can ask in 10 seconds and don't even further care for, or someone like Thorsten who's trying to fool everyone with false information can type even faster and already be on the next topic before the first one is properly exlained. The total lack of anyone caring hurts. If Kai Winkler or Charly Snyder started posting again and again here on the forum fake tuxedobadges or eva's fake personal belongings they would be expelled faster as you can say "fake", if someone post a fake SS tab he's almost crucified, but if it comes to cultural items no one cares for facts or originality. Someone should test how the SS section would respond if they posted hundreds and hundreds of fake tabs again and again and re-post them in every tab topic too? Wanna bet how short it would take the mods to expell him? Why does the same not apply to cultural items? As here we have the very same happening in each and EVERY cultural topic, but the poster can keep getting away with it and is protected by the mods. Why is that? Money?!

Why is the forumcommunity so ignorant? Doesn't no one care anymore about a little thing called "historical truth" or facts?

One last thing i want to point out and name as reason to not post any information anymore:

Even if these chests are very old, I think that they are well-suited to being used in the yule corner since they are shown in Weitzel.

Here we have it, a SIMILAR one is posted in Weitzel, Weitzel doesn't even mention it to be period(!!!), and thus every similar one made for centures and even today, must be an original chest! This is the very same thought Thorsten ahs been trying to present as truth for years. You see, the forum doens't want to be educated, if it looks a bit like it it must be original!!!!! Random German furniture = real cultural SS/NS/DWH items on WAF!!!!!! No go on, offer some more on the e-stand!

I did, numoerous times, e.g a few pages back i posted a picture from the SS financed Hammer magazine that shows a similar chect that is shown in Weitzel, as in the DHW catalog and litterlay hundreds of times by Thorsten on the forum: only it is dated to 1800 by the SS themselves, but here on the forum Thorsten, Steve T and you yourselves choose to ignore this little fact. You even have the guts to make the above reply. Hey, one is shown in a DHW catlog to have been also made by the DHW during the war, hardly anyone knows what DWH is or cares for it, THUS...all similar chest must be originals!!! You see, it doens't matter if i present evidence, there's immediatly three people who jump on me and shout harder that they are right and then Thorsten quickly makes a series of unrelated posts with pictureas, Steve T recues him by posting that he likes it and you posts a million more questions you have no idea about. Don: do your own homework, you DO ask people crazy and act like a little child if you don't get your anwers immediatly. When you are presented the facts you ignore them and refuse to learn from them. Why is that? Maybe because you want to make crazy money liek thorsten too on the e-stand? At least he's forbidden to sell there anymore by Gary Wood and keeps out of the SS section, but you choose to go the same direction as him. Read my posts, just two pages back i made a series of posts and explained whats wrong with Thorsten posts, you either can't or don't want to understand what is written. Remember also the two brooches last week? Why on earth you even asked if they were SS is still beyond me. Why don't you first properly study the runes yourself, instead of being mad if you don't get answers immediatly? Yes i am a teacher/historian/writer, whatever you want to label me, it's not relevant here. It for me become pointless anymore posting real information as no one cares for it anyway, so... i stop doing so.

Anyone in the future having questions about brooches or even cultural item can always pm me, i refuse to share real information on the forum anymore as long as Thorsten is allowed to be a member here.

As he will reply under here: a good day for WAF!

                      Gaston
That's a lot of info from someone who was supposed to be done posting. I take offense at your accusations. Until now I've tried to not be offensive to you but now it is obvious that you think you are the only person who knows anything and that is troubling as there are no experts in this field. To put yourself on top is very egotistical.

If I was only in this for profit I would have sold the best of my collection already. But to sell some things so I can afford other items is not criminal. And I pay up for items so I need to recoup some of what I pay. But this is none of your business. You pull the same communist crap with others like DMV. If I bothered you on email you could have said something. But you continued to respond. So do not worry I will not bother you again. I thought you enjoyed the discussions we had.

Regarding the chests mentioned by weitzel: I believe he wanted people to use old ancestral chests in the yule corner but if the ss could supply them with one why not sell appropriate examples? They were an enterprising org with all matter of goods such as allach. So it is easy to see that they would encourage the purchase of products made by anyone selling appropriate items and esp if that company made profits for the State. And just to find a chest shown in weitzel is a cool thing in my opinion since it is.possible to own the exact Jul eck pictured therein. That is really cool in my.opinion that this is even possible. No matter what era the chest is from. It is in keeping with the spirit of the corner.

Enjoy your time away.from the forum. Periodic downtime from this place has down myself some good too.

                          One last thing Gaston....

I could also accuse you of only being interested in TR medals and brooches to sell copies of your upcoming book. But that would be stupid for me to do because I can see the difference between profit for profit's sake and being legitimately.interested in a subject.

Why don't you tell the forum of your upcoming book that you will be selling and how you will profit off the info you guard.
We recall how mad you got at DMV when he posted a photo you bought on eBay since you planned on releasing it in your book. He stole your profits by freely posting it here and you wanted to sell it to us instead. It seems you are just as interested in profit as Thorsten but camouflage it as a scholar.

Something about professors I have always known: those who cannot DO in real life hide out on a faculty and TEACH instead.

Gaston also got mad at you for selling brooches. He thinks if we were as good as he is, we would never sell anything from our collection. Do you recall how he lectured you for selling brooches and then for showing that photo he bought on eBay? I will not let him pull this one over on the forum.
