    Customs

    Hello,

This insignia is for the RFV Helferinnen (customs female helper)... some said, and other said it could be Forst Verwaltung (forestry administration).

    Best regards

Definetivly not forestry, customs would make more sense. The "border" of this patch is matching the border on the customs collar insignia.

It is customs, due to the Akanthus-leaves beneath the swastika, but until know nobody has found out for what reason it exists.
In mid war it was planned to introduce a new insignia. Maybe it is this one. Due to the war and the materials and financial situation it was postphoned (auf Kriegsdauer zurückgestellt).

Please proof this to be Danish! The saw-tooth edge and Akanthus leaves are specificly for German customs, as is the color for the patch!

Wim, the planned newly introduced insignia, would that be an arm badge?

From early 1942 notes one can conclude the cuffband would be replaced by a special insignia. But this plan was dropped and the cuffband had to be worn for the duration of the war (die beabsichtigte Änderung durch Schaffung eines besonderen Abzeichens ist fallen gelassen worden).

Knowing how the system works (from other customs researches as the Edelweiss), it is for sure the customs-management (Zoll-Kleiderkasse) had given orders to some manufacturers to develop a new insignia.

It is my opinion the triangle could be the meant special insignia for the Zollgrenzschutz. I have seen it positioned upon wartime customs headgear, but the notes say about the replacing of the cuffband.
