Complete Government Official's field grey Ostbeamter uniform

It’s been ages since I posted something here related to Government Officials as there usually isn’t that much interest in this branch. A couple of weeks ago, however, I added something that I felt like sharing for several reasons.

The cloth items were found together and appear to be untouched since the war. The set even includes a set of piped breeches (these piped in light grey). The tunic bears a tailor label from Krakow which corresponds to the OST cufftitle identifying the first owner of the tunic as being assigned to the East.

Furthermore, the sleeve badge is that of the lowest rank of Government Official. At the time the books on Government Officials (Halcomb & Angolia) were published, it was suspected that this low rank was embroidered in cotton thread rather than bullion. It’s execution is of no lesser quality than that of higher ranking Officials. The uniform itself is also a high quality product and survived the first couple of decades after the war hidden between walls of an old house in Poland. There were some items hidden along with it that the owner would have picked up so it is likely to assume he never actually arrived in the West (or simply never had a chance to return to pick it up).

Dagger, badges and brocade belt were added by me for display. Enjoy the pics… Kurt

                      Wilhelm,

I was able to obtain it through the help of a kind WAF member who knows I am looking for this stuff. I'd consider myself fortunate to own it, not proud ...

                      Best regards from Germany... Kurt

Those boots sure make him look like a swashbuckler.
