DAF Coffee Cup W/ Factory Markings ?

    Good day to all.

I just got this piece yesterday from a vets estate.

I've had coffee cups and saucers before but never marked like this one.

It has a DAF & makers mark which is common but..

On the outside of the cup as an Art Deco Lion's head marked LEO and ..

On the other side has what appears to be a factory LOGO.

If anyone could educate me I would be much obliged.

The saucer bottom with an interesting set of initials.

                  Thank you Gerdan.

My question is more about the Leo and factory logo.

I've never seen them before in 40 plus years collecting.

The cups and saucers I've seen a plenty and sold a few as well.

I would say they were a special order by the firm, due to the fact that the rim colour is the same as the logo colour. You normally only see the rims plain, red, blue and green.

                      Thank you David.

Anyone know the factory or what the Leo insignia signifies ?

KPM stands for Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin. The KPM logo, shown of the empty crown, was used between 1925 and 1945,

I will try and find out what the other logo's are for.

This porcelain is often described as DAF porcelain but really that is something of a misnomer. This pattern was approved by the DAF as appropriate for workplaces. It was used in all kinds of factories and also in government workplaces as well, it was widely used. Any firm could order sets of this porcelain with their own factory logo for use in employee cafeterias.

                              Great info guys thank you.

Any idea why this one has 2 logos ?

Could it be personalized, meaning that the Leo could be refering to a person ?
