    Olympic crown? Or something else

I'm posting this up for a friend of mine. I've never seen anything like it. I think this normally would be passed off as nothing. But the fact it's marked Munchen 9 is reason to post it. What are your thoughts?

Most likely a sports prize IMO. If I had to guess, I would say made by Deschler (Munchen 9 stamp).
        Neat piece.

        cheers

I agree--a head piece for a festival possibly--if a sport related head wreath, normally it should have the opening in the front. This appears more like a tiara.
It's odd that there would be a München 9 stamp without the maker's name. The piece is obviously very well made and of high quality. Very nice!

          Festina lente!

I completely agree with this analysis. If sport related the opening should be in the front.

But regardless, it's a nice piece. Tim, now you need to find the magic wand to go with it!

That's a really neat piece, was probably used in one of the mid 1930's pagents celebrating German culture. Reguardless, I'd love to have one

Agreed, probably in a parade. A pagan celebration comes to mind too-earth-leaves, etc.

Thanks Dave, I too was leaning towards the cultural festival headpiece and viewed footage of some of the parades in Munich but couldnt catch the headpiece in wear but any of the participants. I will have this piece at the MAX show if anyone interested in seeing in hand. Again neat piece and thank you for the imput. TPK
