Interesting to see that they hold on there typical reverse set up and markings this late into the war.

NSDAP Membership Badges seem to tell their own story, don't they? The early ones were made of cloisonne and carried a beautiful glassy finish, while the later, war-time, ones were struck in zinc and painted. Given our hindsight today as we see many of the early pieces still as bright and shiny as they were when new but the last-made examples having degraded greatly, it almost tells us that the Party believed in their own invincibility early on, and then came to realize that the end was near at hand! Hindsight is a great story-teller, isn't it?!

        Cheers,

        Br. James
