    Diplomatic Tableware

    Hello Collector guys and gals,

I had three of these butter knives for along time and was actually talked out of one for contribution to Mr. Yannes book, “Collecting the Tableware of the Third Reich”. I thought I would post them to see if anyone has ever seen another example?

      Hello,

Thank you, what I like about these is that not only are they diplomatic, they also clearly indicate that they were indeed utilized at the embassy in Paris. I picture some liberating force moved in and somebody just stuffed their pocket with a few pieces of these? I though it was just awesome that Mr. Yannes put the example I released in his book. I thought I would also post these additional pictures as that in my opinion, if you look closely, the emblem on them was the work of a master jeweler, and/or metal smith. I have a total of eight examples in “5” separate configurations. Anyone have any diplomatic porcelain or glassware they wouldn’t mind showing? I also have a few more sorta rare items to show if anyone has any interest?

                Ok great

Here is some more stuff that I have since some did request. While is hard to gather the size of the platter, it is make by nyphangerg/underglaze and is extremely heavy. Its large enough to put a turkey in and is so big you have to hold it with two hands. I think their is a picture of it in Johnson's war booty book. The other is a set of goring porcilian. Does anyone else have something of this nature? Also, I am currently trying to negotiate a buy from a old collection that has to do with silverware to which the likes I have never seen in 16 years of collecting. I really hope I can acquire it as it would be unbelievable to share with everyone. I'll post more stuff if people find these pictures interesting.

                  Here

Hmmm, I was thinking entertaining the idea of cosigning the Paris pieces to one of the dealer’s site. My collecting interests have changed a little as know I am into blue panel and Damascus imperial pieces. Very artistic in their creation in my humble opinion. Message me if you like and we can talk?

I am also posting a grouping of one of my most prized possessions; those being 16 pieces of Diplomatic Porcelain pieces. I did some intensive research on these pieces and have it verified in writing from the manufacturer and from their records’ have verified that these were indeed made for Ribbentrop in July of 1939 for use as the official Third Reich State service set in the reception of dignitaries from other countries. I was highly fortunate to obtain such a set and as you can see there are 4 different sizes with two of them being extremely large serving platters. All have a very subliminal and elegant gold rim around each piece. Try and see it in my terrible photos? I have enjoyed them for many years and will for many more to come.

By the way, is there any way to manipulate the photo rotation after a image is uploaded? grrrrrr.....
