Mystery bag from Reichsparteitag in Nürnberg

I ran across this in a shop in Nürnberg and was intrigued by it. The shop owner had a stack of these. It is a triangular bag with the top edge being open and the other two edges closed. The longest edge measures about 9.5 inches. I made a pretty large tinnie purchase and the shop owner gave me one as a gift. Once I examined it, the reverse printing made it obvious as to this bag's purpose. I'll let those intrigued as I was wager a guess before I post the reverse in a couple of days.

I'd say it's a paper bag for fruits.

    Best regards,
    Alex

For almonds? A Mandeltüte? I'm intrigued. I wouldn't mind having one of these.

I wouldn't mind having a modern version with hot candied almonds, either.

It is a bag from Nurnburg, not from the Reichspatteitag.

Reminds me a bit of the old triangle shaped drinking cups when I was young.

Actually Bob, that is accurate and, if possible, I would have to amend the title of the thread as the saying is "Nürnberg Stadt der Reichsparteitage" or, translated, Nürnberg city of the Reichsparteitage. So this item could have been used every year, and all year long, since the first party day celebration in Nurnberg not just during the Reichsparteitage events.

The shape reminds me of the paper bags that fruit vendors use in Europe. I recall the apricots and strawberries, from the street vendors served in triangular bags that held the fruit.

                  Bag

I have a 1 liter beer stein that has exact same wording and logo of Nuremberg including the two shields on each side. I'll take a photo of it and post a reply later today. I would love to have one of those bags also to go with my stein.

Don't think it would hold up to fruit as it isn't too big and might not stand the weight. So not a fruit bag. That mug and bag would go well together!
