    I had the exact same thoughts as you after seeing fake Glatz gorgets offered on ebay for quite some time now again and again.!

      The one on eBay is anyway fake; the one shown here is highly questionable. The main reason: the kidney formed backplate in aluminum was not in use within the Stahlhelm-organization. This material came into being for general use when the Stahhelm-organization already was officially disbanded.
      Originally with originals the backplate is from brass or nickled brass.

          yes its a repro,i see them from time to time on shows here in Germany since few years,a gorget for Stahlhelm bund was never made from alu.
