To J. Wraith: Jim Yannes' "Encyclopedia" includes three separate silver cutlery styles attributed to Ribbentrop -- the pattern mentioned below, which is not sourced; a similar pattern found at Ribbentrop's Schloss Fuschl in Salzberg, Austria; and a style bearing a coat of arms attributed to Ribbentrop.

RRI: All three of the above cutlery styles are of solid silver; Jim Yannes does not show any silver-plated pieces attributed to Ribbentrop.

Thanks for sharing the link, RR1. I am not familiar with this particular pattern and it does not appear in Yannes' "Encyclopedia" -- which is the largest accumulation of Third Reich silverware designs I know of. The dealer -- German Reich Military Treasures -- does not say why he believes this piece to be of Ribbentrop origin...but all things are possible! It would be most unusual to find an example of a high-ranking Nazi's personal flatware service in silver-plate; all known examples are in at least .800 solid silver. But I believe that tableware made for dining rooms and cafeterias located in office buildings such as the Brown House or the Foreign Ministry...or even the Berchtesgaden Reichschancellery were rendered in silver-plate.

Br. James, Big thank you for the ID of the silverware.
As you noted the butter knife is odd to the set, there is one other piece “I believe” it was the small spoon that has a slightly different silver hallmark. It didn’t have the circle with a dot at the hallmark end looked more like a triangle. So there are two pieces odd to the set.
I will see what I can do about getting better photos and some shots of the 3rd Division scrap book.
I will update if all goes well.
