Flatwire BEVO Patch - Spread Wing Eagle with Swastika on Chest - Is This a BDM Patch?

Never found a patch like this out of the woodwork before. Suspect it is a BDM patch, but I don't have HJ/BDM reference material to confirm. It measures 70mm square, scan doesn't show well but it's silver flatwire.

It's widely accepted as a reproduction BDM insignia sorry to say.

Thanks Darin - It was a thrown in, so no worries that's why I posted here. Is this based on an original insignia design or is this style a fantasy piece?

I believe the originals are similar but are hand embroidered in bullion.

As Erich says the originals appear hand made in much higher quality material. Take a look at this example (and the others) from Kevin's collection and the differences are apparent.

Thank you gentlemen, that helps to advance my learning. Interesting, in our collecting world all I can recall are fakes of bullion insignia being made from bullion and BEVO made from BEVO.

So, I would consider a fantasy item if no such insignia ever existed in BEVO construction. (hope that makes sense).

That makes sense, although I would think of it more as a copy in the wrong materials than fantasy--for me, a fantasy item is something that never existed at all, like, for example, a sleeve award for the single handed destruction of an ice cream truck.
