Latvian HJ armband and French NSKK shield

    Hi Guys,

I was hoping for some opinions on these 2 pieces please.

The armband is screen printed on linen and interestingly the seam is on the side rather than in the centre like German armbands. This came with a small selection of original HJ material and I think it is good?

The NSKK patch is also printed and I understand there were a number of variations. I have seen a couple posted printed on courser weave cloth resembling the weave at the top of the piece of material on this one.

    Would appreciate any thoughts

    many thanks

    Patrick

Latvian Flak helpers armband and the French N.S.K.K patch are both good items.

            Hi,

The primary literature shows that these armbands should not be printed:

Sorry to labour the point but this armband is still for sale on Estand. I would, at the very least, have expected an acknowledgement that it is not made in accordance with the period instructions (posted at the link in the above post). Theodore hasn't qualified his post so at the moment there is no reason to believe that this armband is authentic.

thanks Gary, interesting information. In hand I still think it is authentic from the material and construction but will remove it from sale

The armband is one of a series of reproduction printed Eastern HJ patterns made around 1970.
